Does Raison send data outside Europe?

See which Raison sub-processors may process data outside the EEA and which safeguards govern those transfers.

Written by Romain Morvant

Raison’s core production environment (the application, databases, and uploaded content) is hosted in France (Azure). Some sub-processors process limited data outside France and the EEA.

Sub-processors

  • Vercel (front-end CDN, EU/USA): transfer governed by the Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

  • Clerk (authentication, USA): transfer governed by the Data Privacy Framework.

  • Intercom (customer support and help center, USA): transfer governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and/or the Data Privacy Framework.

  • Temporal Cloud (workflow orchestration, EU): technical metadata only, no educational content.

  • Google Workspace / Notion / Slack (internal tools, EU/USA): internal use only, no client educational data.

Transfer safeguards

These transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, with supplementary measures (minimisation, encryption, pseudonymisation).
