Enable, disable and delete a mode

This page shows how to turn an assistant's modes on or off and how to delete a custom mode. On Settings, tab General, under Modes, each mode is a card. An active card has a remove control. An inactive card is dashed, with Add back. On Add custom mode, that action is Create.

To turn a mode off, select the remove control on its card. On a custom mode, that control disables it. It does not delete the mode.

To turn it on again, select Add back on the dashed card.

You cannot disable the last remaining Support, Effort, or custom mode. Enable another one first. You can still turn Admin assistant off; that restores Support and Effort.

Turning a custom mode on or off stays in the bar until you Save. Creating, editing, and deleting a custom mode save immediately.

When you enable Admin assistant, Support, Effort, and every custom mode turn off. Quiz, Summary, Study plan, and Diagram shortcuts also turn off.

When you turn Admin off, Support and Effort come back on. Custom modes stay off until you add them back. Shortcuts stay off until you turn them on again in Default prompts.

Select the custom mode card, then Delete. This removes the mode for good. Support and Effort cannot be deleted, only disabled.
