Make an assistant public or private

Turn Make assistant public on or off, and what happens to LMS course attachments when an assistant goes private.

Written by Romain Morvant

Learners reach an assistant only after you make it public. Open the assistant and select Share. The sheet title is Share teaching assistant.

Make it public

  1. Open the assistant from Teaching assistants.

  2. Select Share.

  3. Under Assistant visibility, turn on Make assistant public.

Public means anyone with the link can open the assistant, but it is not discoverable otherwise. Raison confirms with Assistant published successfully, then reminds you to share the link or integrate it into your platform.

Make it private

Turn Make assistant public off. When the assistant is private, only you can see it, and Raison confirms with This assistant is now offline.

If the assistant is attached to LMS courses, a dialog asks Also detach this assistant? Choose Keep attached (learners still see the widget but cannot interact) or Detach (unpublish and detach from courses).

Finding it in the list

On the list, the tabs are Draft and Public. The filter Show only offers Draft, Published, and All.
