Once LTI is active (Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle), instructors open Raison from the course navigation, tools menu, or Moodle activity.
The course setup screen
The first time an instructor opens it, Raison shows a course setup screen:
If no assistant is attached yet: select an existing assistant from your Raison organization, or create a new one.
If an assistant is already attached: it is shown, with an option to change it.
Raison uses the LTI context (course ID, user role) to decide which assistant to display and whether the current user is an instructor or a learner.
Learners who open the Raison item go directly into the assistant. They do not see a setup screen.
One assistant per course. Changing the attached assistant does not delete the previous one. It simply detaches it from this course.
Moodle
On Moodle, educators also use the Raison shortcuts in the course and on the home page. A launch that maps to a published assessment opens that assessment. Otherwise it opens the course assistant.
If no assistant is attached, the educator gets the setup or troubleshooting workflow. Where the educator already has a matching Raison account, a short-lived sign-in ticket can reduce extra login steps.
The plugin can show the assistant on supported Moodle course pages. Administrators can exclude selected activity types (for example quiz or assign) so the course assistant does not appear in those contexts. See Moodle plugin settings.
