Import Blackboard course content

What Raison reads from a connected Blackboard instance, what governs access, and what to check if no courses appear.

Written by Romain Morvant

Once the REST API integration is registered in Blackboard and the Blackboard URL is saved in Raison, Raison can read course structure and content.

What Raison reads

  • Modules

  • Files

  • Pages

That material becomes available as source material for assistants.

What determines access

The Learn User assigned to the REST API integration determines which courses and data Raison can access. Use a dedicated service account with enough privileges to read course content.

Instructors and admins who will create assistants must also be members of the Raison organisation. Invite them from Organization → Members → Add Member → Invite Blackboard user.

If no courses appear

The Application ID, the Learn User privileges, or the Blackboard URL are the usual causes. See Blackboard troubleshooting.
