Import Moodle course content

What Raison reads from a connected Moodle site, who can import it, and what to check if no courses appear.

Written by Romain Morvant

After the local plugin is connected, Raison can read the Moodle course context educators need to build an assistant. There is no manual export.

What Raison reads

From a course shortcut, or when creating an assistant from Moodle, the plugin fetches permitted content for the knowledge base:

  • Sections and modules

  • Files

  • Lessons

  • SCORM packages

  • Course and category catalogue

Raison uses that material so answers stay grounded in the course.

The plugin also reads enrolments, roles, and selected completion information where available. Moodle stays the source of truth for who is in the course and what they can do.

Who can import

From the Moodle home page, educators with the Raison Manager role can open Raison and manage existing assistants. To give teachers that access, see Give Moodle teachers access to Raison.

If no courses appear

Confirm the plugin registration finished and that cron has run. See Moodle troubleshooting.
