Sync courses and learners

Why there is no sync-all control, and where Learners import and Course updates are actually turned on.

Written by Romain Morvant

Connecting an LMS does not copy every course and every learner into Raison. There is no organization-wide sync-all control on Integrations. Sync is offered when you create an assistant from a Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard course.

Choose sync when you create from a course

Start from Create an assistant from a Moodle, Canvas or Blackboard course. On the preview step you can turn on Learners (import course enrollees) and Course updates (keep this assistant in sync with that LMS course). Neither is on just because the LMS is connected.

The preview step for creating a teaching assistant from a Moodle course: the Course, Resources, Learners, and Course updates settings are visible, with Learners and Course updates switched on before Generate assistant.

Course updates keep the knowledge base aligned with the course. Learners import is a one-time opt-in at create. Course lists themselves refresh when you open a picker, not from a Sync button on Integrations.

Attach or import without recreating setup

Attaching an existing assistant is a separate action from sync, and so is importing individual course files.
