No courses appear after connecting

Why an LMS course list can be empty after connecting, and what controls visibility on Moodle, Canvas, and Blackboard.

Written by Romain Morvant

After you connect an LMS, a course list can still be empty. Raison is listing courses the signed-in person can see, not every course on the institution. Fix visibility and who is connected before retrying import.

Confirm the connection

Sign in at app.raison.is. Open Organization, then Integrations, and check the Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard card. If Import sources still keeps that LMS dimmed, members cannot open a course picker yet.

What to check on each platform

Moodle. In Moodle settings, Show invisible courses and Allow admin to access all Moodle courses change which courses admins can see. Hidden courses stay out of the list unless you turn the first switch on. See Moodle setup: install the plugin.

Canvas. The list is the courses of the Canvas user who approved access, not every course on the instance. Connect the Canvas user who can see the courses you need. See Canvas setup: API connection (OAuth).

Blackboard. The list is the courses that person belongs to in Blackboard, matched from their Raison email. See Blackboard setup. If save or access fails rather than showing an empty list, see Blackboard troubleshooting.
