Embed a quiz in your LMS

Attach a public quiz to a Moodle or Blackboard course activity from Share, and detach or replace it later.

Written by Romain Morvant

After a quiz is public, you can attach it to a Moodle or Blackboard course from Share. This page is for teachers placing an Exams quiz in a course. It does not cover an iframe snippet or the LMS connection itself.

Open Integration

Publish the quiz first with Make quiz public. Then open Share and choose Integration.

The Integration tab of the Share menu with a course picker and search field

This row appears only when the quiz is public and your organization can use the Moodle plugin, or Blackboard API and LTI together. Canvas is not in this picker. For Canvas, see Canvas setup: LTI 1.3.

Search for a course, then pick where the quiz should sit.

Attach, detach, or replace

On a course activity you can Attach the quiz, Detach it, or Replace another exam already on that activity.

On Moodle, a plus slot between items can create a new placement in that section when the plugin allows it. Blackboard attaches onto existing exam-capable content items.

If a Moodle activity shows that the quiz is not configured, see The quiz embed shows "not configured".

What this screen does not do

Connecting Moodle or Blackboard, and LTI setup, are covered in the Integrations articles listed below. Publishing from the Moodle plugin side is covered there too.

There is no copy-embed-code control on this quiz. Case study is a different exam format: it is listed but unavailable, marked Coming soon. This path is for quizzes in Exams, not the on-demand quiz in assistant chat.
