Offer a prompt as a default inside an assistant

Offer a prompt as a default on one or more assistants from the Prompts library, when you create it or later.

Written by Romain Morvant

This page shows you how to offer a prompt as a default from the Prompts library: set visibility to Assistant and pick assistants on the form. Learners can then tap the prompt in chat.

Managing those chips (adding, removing, built-in shortcuts) happens on the assistant, in Settings. To see or remove a chip in chat, follow Attach default prompts. This page covers the library form only.

Attach while you create

  1. Open Prompts, then My prompts, then Create prompt.

  2. Fill in the name, description, category, and instruction text.

  3. Set visibility to Assistant (the form already starts there).

  4. Pick one or more assistants.

  5. Choose Create.

You must pick at least one assistant. When visibility is Public, the picker is hidden: Public is not the library path to offer a default.

Attach an existing prompt

  1. Open a prompt you can edit from My prompts and choose Edit.

  2. Set visibility to Assistant if needed.

  3. Pick assistants, then choose Save.

The picker also appears when visibility is Private, so you can attach a remixed or saved copy without switching it to Assistant.

Remix hides visibility and does not show the picker. Create the variant first, then edit it.
