Upload files

Upload files from your computer into your library or a collection, check accepted types and size limits, and retry failed uploads.

Written by Romain Morvant

Upload files from your computer into a collection or into your library. Raison then processes them as resources.

Where to start

Open Library, or open a collection under Knowledge bases, then add a resource from your computer. You also land here when you create a collection and add the first files.

The Import your resources panel on the Resources step of Create collection, showing one file with an Upload failed status and Retry, Remove, Choose Files, Add resource and Continue controls.

Upload

Drop files onto the area, or click to select them. Wait until each file has finished. You can remove a file or retry a failed one before you continue, then submit. Raison processes the new resources (usually 1 to 2 minutes for a collection).

Accepted types and size limits

Accepted types include PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, images, audio, video, SCORM, and H5P. If a file has an unsupported format, or an archive is not a SCORM or H5P package, Raison rejects it.

File size limits depend on your plan. In the upload window you can open the size limits for your organization. The full list is in Supported file formats and size limits. If a file is too large, compress it or split it, or write to [email protected] if you need a higher limit.

Other ways to add resources

To import a SCORM package and pick items inside it, see Import a SCORM package. Web pages, pasted text, LMS courses, and hosted videos each have their own add path, listed below.
