When a resource fails to process

What to do when a resource shows Error: open the collection review, then retry, replace or remove the file.

Written by Romain Morvant

If a resource lands on Error, Raison could not finish reading it. This page explains what to do next. For the meaning of each status chip, see Understanding a resource's sync status.

Open the collection

Open the collection that contains the file. Raison may tell you that some documents need your attention. Open that review to see the failed resource.

Typical causes

  • Processing took too long.

  • The file could not be uploaded or is too large.

  • The file type is unsupported.

  • No usable content was found.

  • You have reached your document limit.

Retry, replace, or remove

On a failed resource you can Retry (one file), Retry all, or Retry ingestion for the whole collection. You can Replace the file with another upload, or Remove it.

Do not retry a file that is simply too large or the wrong type. Compress it, split it, or pick a supported format first. Size and format rules are in Supported file formats and size limits. If you have reached your document limit, see Understanding your usage limits.
