Remove a resource from a collection

Permanently delete documents from a collection, then sync the collection so your assistants stop using them.

Written by Romain Morvant

This page explains how to take a file out of a collection by deleting it from that collection. Deleting permanently removes the selected documents. It is not the same as unlinking a whole collection from an assistant.

Delete selected documents confirmation dialog on a collection's Resources tab

Delete documents in the collection

  1. Open Knowledge bases and open the collection.

  2. Select the documents to remove.

  3. Confirm Delete selected documents.

  4. Choose Sync collection so assistants stop using those files. If you leave without syncing, the change is not fully applied.

You must keep at least one document in the collection: Raison blocks deleting the last one.

Remove a file from a failed review

If the file failed to process, the collection review also offers Remove on that card. See When a resource fails to process.

Unlink a collection from an assistant

Unlinking a collection from an assistant is a different action, and you cannot remove the last collection. You do this from the assistant's collections, not from the collection itself.
