Refresh an assistant after updating its content

Rebuild an assistant after its knowledge base changes by linking or unlinking collections, or with Refresh from the Teaching assistants list.

Written by Romain Morvant

When the knowledge base changes, Raison can rebuild the assistant from its current collections. There is no separate update wizard: linking or unlinking a collection regenerates the assistant.

The Knowledge base tab of an assistant, with a Search resources field, a View menu and an Add collection button.

After you change collections

On the assistant, open Knowledge base.

  1. To add a collection, select Add collection, choose the collections, then Link.

  2. To remove one, select Unlink. The collection and its documents are not deleted. You cannot remove the last collection.

Raison then rebuilds the assistant and returns you to Teaching assistants while generation runs.

Sync collection on the knowledge base updates that collection only. It does not regenerate the assistant. Linking or unlinking a collection is what rebuilds this assistant.

Refresh from the list

Refresh is not on the assistant page menu. It appears on the Teaching assistants row menu when the assistant is not yet generated, for example after an error or while it is still building.

  1. On Teaching assistants, open the row menu.

  2. Select Refresh to run generation again from the current knowledge base.

Refresh rebuilds the assistant from its knowledge base, the same action as after linking or unlinking a collection.
