Understanding a resource's sync status

Learn what each status chip on a collection or resource means (Ready, Processing, Pending, To review, Error) and what to do next.

Written by Romain Morvant

Every collection and every resource in Knowledge bases has a status chip. This page explains what each chip means: whether Raison has finished reading the file, whether you still need to act, or whether something failed.

Status chips

You see a chip on collections and on the resources inside them. The names below are the ones in the product.

  • Ready: processing finished. The resource can sit in an assistant's knowledge base.

  • Processing: Raison is still reading the file. This usually takes 1 to 2 minutes.

  • Pending: the resource is queued and has not started yet.

  • To review: processing produced a warning or needs a choice from you before the collection is fully usable.

  • Error: processing failed. Retry, replace the file, or remove it.

Collections table in Knowledge bases with status chips such as Ready and To review in the Status column

A collection stays on To review until you finish the flagged documents. If a collection linked to an assistant contains a folder or subfolder on To review, Raison stops assistant generation and marks the assistant as requiring action until you review it.

What to do

Open the resource, or open the review details on the collection, to see warnings and errors.

Course updates on LMS collections

LMS collections can also show Course updates. That is the link to the Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard course, not a status chip like Ready or Error.
