Create, edit and delete a period

Add a period to an assistant's Timeline, change it before it starts, or delete it permanently.

Written by Romain Morvant

This page shows you how to create, edit and delete the periods that schedule an assistant. Periods live on the Timeline tab, whose page title is Timeline configuration. To understand what periods do, see Schedule content releases over time.

Create a period

  1. Open the assistant, then Timeline.

  2. Select Add new period. The dialog is Create a new period, with the description Define a time period and choose the resources available during it. It has three steps: Calendar, Settings and Preview.

  3. On Calendar, under Period, pick a start date and an end date. Dates already used by another period are unavailable, and you can't pick today or a past date. Select Next.

  4. On Settings, choose resources, modes and prompts (details below). You need at least one resource and at least one mode to continue.

  5. On Preview, enter a Title (required) and an optional Description. Select Create.

Resources

The resources row shows a count, for example Resources: 2/10. Select Manage to open Available resources. The helper text is Select the active resources for this period. The assistant will only use these. Set the Rolling resources switch if needed, find resources with Search..., then select Save.

Modes

Pick the modes active during the period. See Switch modes automatically on a given date.

Prompts

Under Prompts, select Manage prompts to open Active prompts. Choose built-in shortcuts (Quiz, Summary, Study plan, Diagram) and any custom prompts. The helper text is Choose which built-in shortcuts and custom prompts are available during this period.

Edit a period

Open a period in the list, then select Edit period. In the Edit period sheet, change the title, description, dates, resources, modes or prompts, then select Save changes. Close discards the sheet.

Edit period is disabled when the period is Active (it covers today) or when its end date is already in the past. Create a new period instead, or delete this one if you no longer need it.

Delete a period

  1. Open the period in the list.

  2. Select Delete.

  3. Confirm. The confirmation title is Delete selected period, with the text This will permanently delete the selected period, then Are you absolutely sure?

Delete stays available for active and past periods. There is no undo.
