What is a knowledge base?

Learn how resources and collections make up your knowledge base, and how assistants answer from the collections you attach.

Written by Romain Morvant

A knowledge base is your materials in Raison: resources grouped in collections. Assistants answer from the collections you attach. This page explains how the pieces fit together.

Collections and resources

Open Knowledge bases in the sidebar.

A resource is one source you import, such as a file, a web page, free text, a SCORM package, or a video. A collection is a named group of those resources.

Create a collection, add at least one resource, and wait until it is ready.

Attach a collection to an assistant

Open the assistant, go to Knowledge base, then Add collection.

The assistant answers from the resources in those collections. One collection can serve several assistants. A change to a collection can affect every assistant that uses it.

Collections and resources belong to the space you are in (your personal space or an organization), like assistants.
