An assistant is the AI chat learners open. It answers from the materials you attach. This page explains where you create one and what you can configure.
Learners only need the link or the LMS activity. They do not need a teacher account.
Where to create one
Open Teaching assistants in the sidebar, then Create assistant. You can also start from Quick create.
The list filters as Draft or Published. Learners reach an assistant when you share it.
What it answers from
Open the assistant, go to Knowledge base, then Add collection. Attach one or more collections. The assistant uses those resources when it answers.
What you can set
Open the assistant to change its content, who can use it, and how it talks. Use Preview to try the chat as a learner.
In Settings, Modes lets you choose Admin, Support, Effort, or add a custom mode. There is no separate Course assistant card.
