Anti-cheat rules: what ends your attempt

Learn which quiz rules end your attempt, such as leaving the tab or the timer, and which rules do not.

Written by Romain Morvant

Some quizzes add extra rules so the attempt stays fair. You see them before you start, only if your teacher turned them on. This page explains what ends your attempt and what does not.

There is no webcam, no pairing code, and no lockdown browser.

What ends the attempt

You can send the attempt yourself when you finish.

If leaving the tab ends the attempt, switching away and coming back sends what you have. If that rule is off, you can change tabs without ending the attempt. The clock still runs if the quiz is timed.

If the quiz is timed, Time remaining reaching zero also sends the attempt.

Closing the window while you are in the quiz records the attempt as left. You do not see your score on that path.

What does not end it

If copy and paste are blocked, you cannot cut, copy, or paste during the attempt. That does not send the attempt.

One attempt or try again

Some quizzes allow only one try. If you open it again, you see that you already used it.
