What a case study is for

Learn what the Case study exam format is meant for and what to use while it is marked Coming soon.

Written by Romain Morvant

A Case study is meant to assess learners through a guided conversation, not through a set of auto-graded questions. The format is listed in Exams but is not available yet. To compare it with a quiz and see where it appears, read Quiz or case study: which to choose.

What a case study is for

The format is described as Assess learners through a guided conversation. It fits when a conversation is the right way to see what a learner can do: the assistant guides the learner through a situation, instead of scoring a quiz paper.

Coming soon

The Case study row shows a Coming soon badge and stays disabled. There is no teacher flow yet to build, preview, publish, or track a case study. A learner case-study chat is not a way for you to create one.

Until the badge is gone, create a Quiz instead.
