You can start a new assistant from your own documents, from a collection you already built, or from a connected LMS course. Two options are always there: Use a collection and Start from scratch. Rows for Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard appear only if your organization connected that LMS.
Start creating
Open Quick create in the sidebar, or open Teaching assistants and select Create assistant. After you first create your account, Raison can take you straight here, without opening the Dashboard first.
If several LMS platforms are connected, they appear first, in this order: Moodle, then Blackboard, then Canvas. Then comes Use a collection, then Start from scratch. If only one LMS is connected, its course list shows on this first screen instead of a separate item.
The three ways
Pick the starting point that matches the materials you already have.
From scratch, with your documents. Select Start from scratch, add files, a web page, or text, then Generate assistant. You need at least one source: there is no shortcut for an empty assistant. See Create an assistant from scratch or from your documents.
From an existing collection. Select Use a collection, or select Create assistant on a collection that is Ready in Knowledge bases. See Create an assistant from an existing collection.
From a Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard course. Select the LMS item, pick a course and its resources, then generate. See Create an assistant from a Moodle, Canvas or Blackboard course.
Then generate
Every path ends with Generate assistant. Raison then builds the assistant.
If you have reached the assistant limit, you cannot create another one until an assistant is removed or your plan allows more. Write to [email protected] if you need help.
