The link my teacher sent doesn't work

Fix a share link, quiz link, course activity or workspace sign-in link from your teacher that does not open, and what each error means.

Written by Romain Morvant

Use this page if a link from your teacher does not open the assistant or the quiz. Your teacher can send a share link, a course activity, a quiz link, or a workspace sign-in. Each path signs you in differently. Do not mix them.

The Access dialog with an email field and a Send verification code button.

Share or quiz link

A share link, a widget, and a quiz share link ask for your email and a 6-digit code. That is not a workspace sign-in link.

If the code never arrives, send it again. Check spam. Use the same email your teacher expects.

If you see Access denied, see I can't open my assistant.

If the chat opened then stopped, see "Session expired": what to do.

If you see Access restricted, you no longer have access to this quiz. Contact your teacher. On a Moodle quiz that is not ready, you may see Quiz not configured. If the player then ended the attempt, see My quiz attempt ended before I finished.

Course activity

If your school added Raison to Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard, open the activity in the course. LTI, and the Moodle plugin widget, can skip the 6-digit code. If the course only embeds a share link, you still enter your email and the code.

You may see Instructor setup in progress. Check back later, or contact your teacher.

Workspace link or a broken URL

The workspace sign-in page sends a sign-in link, not a 6-digit code. That link only works if you already used an assistant with that email. If Raison does not know the email, open the original share link or your course first.

If the page stays blank, or the browser says the address is not found, the link was copied in two pieces or it is no longer valid. Ask your teacher for a new one. Open it in the same browser where you will work.
